News "South Park" Musical on Stage? Book of Mormon Creators Doubtful Tony Award-winning Book of Mormon co-authors and "South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone stated that a stage musical adaptation of their hit television series will likely not happen.

The duo revealed the news during the Television Critics Association Presentations in Los Angeles this past weekend. "Well, no, we are not going to do a musical version of 'South Park,' I really don’t think," Parker said.

"We could never figure out what the heads would be like, giant heads… who will have to play them," Stone added.

There has been speculation in the past that Parker and Stone's Broadway hit The Book of Mormon, written along with Tony and Academy Award-winning composer Robert Lopez, will be adapted for film.

The writers have stated that they are cautiously open to the possibility and with the formation of Parker and Stone's Important Studio, a film adaptation of Mormon is reported to be at the top of the list for future projects.
