Performances are scheduled to begin April 4 at the Off-Broadway venue with an official opening set for April 11. The limited engagement will play through April 23. Peter Sampieri will direct a cast that includes David Prete, John Zibell and playwright Roland. The creative team will also feature Michael McGarty (set design), Peter Hurowitz (sound design) and Brian Lilienthal (lighting design).

On the Line, according to press notes, concerns "three lifelong friends growing up in a world which has changed with a vengeance. A comedic start leads to a startling and powerful finish."

About the upcoming production Nichols said in a statement, "Presenting a play is a rare thing for me since I am a director and rarely a producer. This play is one I am proud to present." Playwright Roland studied with Nichols at the New Actors Workshop. His other plays include Pilgrims and Rough Draft.

On the Line will offer performances Tuesdays-Saturdays at 8 PM, Sundays at 7 PM and Saturdays and Sundays at 3 PM. Tickets, priced at $36, are available by calling (212) 239-6200.
