News Speakeasy — New Play By LaBute, Rebeck and Others — to Be Presented at Joe's Pub The first production of The Fire Dept — a new theatre company founded by Jessica Blank, Erica Gould and Audrey Rosenberg — will be presented at Joe's Pub in October.

From Oct. 22-24, the intimate cabaret located within the Public Theater will offer SpeakEasy, a "giant play" co-written by Rob Ackerman, Suzanne Bradbeer, Anton Dudley, Brian Keith Jackson, Rajiv Joseph, Laurence Klavan, Carson Kreitzer, Neil LaBute, Theresa Rebeck, Edwin Sanchez and Sheri Wilner. A star-studded cast to be announced at a later date will perform the new work, which will be directed by Erica Gould. Show time each night is 9:30 PM. SpeakEasy, according to press notes, is set "where truth is turned on its head and nothing is as it seems."
