News Spider Baby The Musical Plays Los Angeles' Lyric Hyperion Theatre Cafe Spider Baby The Musical, based on Jack Hill's classic horror film "Spider Baby: The Maddest Story Ever Told," is currently playing a limited engagement at Los Angeles' Lyric Hyperion Theatre Cafe through Dec. 5.

Directed by Helen Acosta, the cast includes Enrique Acosta as Bruno, Jesse Seann Atkinson as Peter Howe, David Clark as Schlocker, Dominique Cox as Elizabeth, Bianca Gisselle as Virginia, Katherine Goldman as Ann Morse, Jose L. Hernandez as Ralph and Tanya Wilkins as Emily.

Spider Baby The Musical features book and music by Enrique Acosta and lyrics by Enrique Acosta, Lorien Patton and Helen Acosta. The rock musical, according to press notes, "tells the story of the Merrye family. Each member of the family suffers from the same degenerative mental disorder, which causes the loss of impulse control. When distant relatives learn of the family's condition, they attempt to institutionalize the Merrye children and sell their land. Spider Baby The Musical deals with the extreme measures the Merrye family takes to stay together."

The musical is presented by AFS Entertainment.

Show times are Friday and Saturday at 8 PM and Sunday at 7 PM.
