News Spider-Man's Reeve Carney, Bono and The Edge Will Perform on "American Idol" Finale Reeve Carney and the co-creators of Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark will head to Los Angeles to perform live on the May 25 broadcast of Fox's "American Idol."

Carney, Bono and The Edge will perform "Rise Above" from the new musical, which is currently playing Broadway's Foxwoods Theatre. (Both Wednesday performances of Spider-Man will go on as planned with Matthew James Thomas performing the role of Peter Parker.)

Sixteen-year-old Lauren Alaina and 17-year-old Scotty McCreery – the youngest contestants ever to battle it out in the "Idol" finale – will go head-to-head at the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE May 24 at 8 PM ET on Fox.

One finalist will be crowned the next American Idol on the two-hour season finale May 25 at 8 PM ET. The finale and concert spectacular will feature special performances, surprise guests and a Top 13 reunion before America's vote is revealed.

Among the many "American Idol" finalists and/or winners who have appeared on Broadway are Fantasia, Justin Guarini, Jordin Sparks, Diana DeGarmo, Ace Young, Tamyra Gray, Constantine Maroulis, Frenchie Davis, Clay Aiken and Taylor Hicks.
