News "Spider Woman" Oscar Winner Hurt to Star in The Drawer Boy at Portland's Artists Rep Academy Award winner William Hurt ("Kiss of the Spider Woman") will star in Portland, Oregon's Artists Repertory Theatre staging of Michael Healy's The Drawer Boy, March 19-April 25.

Beth Harper directs the production which also stars A.R.T. artistic director Allen Nause and Patrick Wohlmut. Tickets go on sale Feb. 12. The Drawer Boy centers on the story of a two childhood friends — both Canadian farmers as well as World War II vets — who share a secret. Their lives are interrupted by an actor who comes to live and work with them for research.

Hurt garnered a Tony Award nomination for Hurlyburly. The Juilliard-trained actor's other stage credits include Fifth of July, Lulu, Love Letters, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Ulysses in Traction and My Life. He was nominated for Oscars for the films "Children of a Lesser God" and "Broadcast News" but won for his turn in "Kiss of the Spider Woman." Other films include "Altered States," "Body Heat," "The Big Chill" and "Gorky Park."
