This year's festival, from May 28-June 13, featured the 18-hour Chinese opera The Peony Pavilion, a production of Bellini's I Capuleti e i Montecchi, and DJ Spooky's multimedia performance Rebirth of a Nation.
Total box office receipts were $2.53 million, a new record, and more than half of the festival's performances were sold out.
The 2005 festival is scheduled for May 27-June 12. Officials will announce the program in November.
The production will include Bernstein’s incidental music for Lillian Hellman’s adaptation of The Lark, and Menotti’s The Unicorn, The Gorgon, and The Manticore.
