News Spring Awakening Will Hold Opening-Night Lottery Drawing
Spring Awakening officially opens on Broadway Sept. 27. The show will hold a lottery drawing for opening night that evening.

Beginning two hours before the performance, a limited number of $35 tickets will be sold via Broadway’s first-ever American Sign Language (ASL) lottery at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, 256 West 47th St., New York.

The show itself, which originated with Deaf West Theatre, is performed in a combination of spoken English and ASL. 

Winners will be drawn 90 minutes before show time. There is a limit of two tickets per person; winners must be physically present to win; and tickets can be paid for with either cash or credit. Regular tickets are on sale to the general pubic at Ticketmaster.com, by calling (877) 250-2929, and in person at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre box office.

Spring Awakening, which won the 2007 Tony Award as Best Musical, has book and lyrics by Steven Sater and music by Duncan Sheik, is directed by Michael Arden and choreographed by Spencer Liff.
