The concerts were to have been conducted by Seattle Symphony music director Gerard Schwarz; violinist Leila Josefowicz was the scheduled guest soloist. The program included Hovhaness's Mountain of Prophecy, Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No. 1, and Holst's The Planets. Ticket holders may exchange their tickets or receive a refund.

The orchestra also announced that it had postponed a free concert in celebration of Black History Month scheduled for February 19.

The major issue separating the two sides is salary: musicians say they deserve more money after accepting a pay cut when the SLSO was in financial crisis three years ago; orchestra officials insist that the group cannot afford a raise.
