Here, via email, we hear from Broadway singing actress Elizabeth A. Davis, a Tony nominee for her performance in Once who will be seen in the City Center Encores! production of Zorba.

What show recently impressed you?
Seeing Chita Rivera in all her glory at opening of The Visit was spectacular. Benjamin Scheuer in The Lion tore me up/inspired me and John Tiffany and Steven Hoggett's Let the Right One In terrified/inspired me. (Oh, oh. And, Reed Birney and Betty Gilpin in Halley Feiffer's I'm Gonna Pray for You So Hard.)

What production are you most excited to see?
I'm excited to see Alysha Umphress sing "I Can Cook, Too" in On the Town and Once alum Anne Nathan in It Shoulda Been You. (I know. I'm behind.) Jonesing for Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton is a given, so...

What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
Totally cheating cause I can't pick just one, but... Eliza Doolittle in Pygmalion, Hermione in A Winter's Tale or Yelena in Uncle Vanya.

What are your current/upcoming projects?
Upcoming projects I'm free to talk about include my passion project, Indian Joe, for which I'm writing. We are Rhinebeck Writer Retreat finalists for this summer, and will workshop at The Cherry Lane, a previous home of the piece, before heading into production in the fall at Goodspeed's Norma Terris. You can hear a few of the songs on my SoundCloud here.
