Here, via email, we hear from actress Roslyn Ruff, who is currently starring in Ivo van Hove's stage adaptation of Ingmar Bergman's epic film documenting the dissolution of a relationship, Scenes from a Marriage, at New York Theatre Workshop.

What show recently impressed you? 
Rocky. I went to support Margo Seibert, who was just lovely as Adrian. However, when I sat down in my seat, I never quite expected the level of "emotional investment" I achieved. By the time it got to the big event and the ring began to move out into the audience, I got goosebumps. When Rocky made his entrance (only feet away from me) for the final fight, myself and the woman next to me leaped out of our seats screaming and cheering in Andy Karl's face. It was insane, and I had a fabulous time. But you're also talking about someone whose family, growing up, owned the vinyl soundtrack to the movie. 

What production are you most excited to see?
Our Lady of Kibeho at the Signature Theatre. I am absolutely intrigued by the subject matter. It's based on an actual case of "Marian Apparitions," which is something I've always been fascinated by.

What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
Well, not to be in it necessarily, but it would be wonderful to see August Wilson's Jitney on Broadway. It is the only one of the ten not to have a Broadway production. To see the cycle completed in that way would just be monumental.

What are your current/upcoming projects? 
Currently in Scenes From a Marriage, directed by Ivo Van Hove, at New York Theater Workshop.
