Here, via email, we hear from writer and actor Qurrat Ann Kadwani, who currently stars in her award-winning play They Call Me Q at Off-Broadway's St. Luke’s Theatre.

What show recently impressed you?
I just saw Once, and it is such a sweet musical. I love the music so much that I want the album. I was so happy to see another SUNY Geneseo alum J. Michael Zygo in the cast! He invited me backstage, and I took pics onstage!

What production are you most excited to see?
I still need to see A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. I remember seeing Jefferson Mays in I Am My Own Wife, and I was so amazed, so inspired!

What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
Proof. I would definitely play Catherine because she is so vulnerable, but she hides it behind an exterior of strength. That play gives me goosebumps.

What are your current/upcoming projects?
I'm starring in a solo play that I've written, They Call Me Q, playing Off-Broadway at St Luke's Theatre. It's so fun playing 13 characters in an hour!
