News Staged Reading of Busker Alley Presented Tonight Musical Theatre West's Reiner Staged Reading Series presents the A.J. Carothers/Sherman Brothers musical Busker Alley Aug. 17 at 7 PM at the University Theatre at California State University, Long Beach.

Directed by Darcie Roberts with musical direction by David Lamoureux and David Catalan, the cast features James Leo Ryan as Charlie Baxter, Sarah Elizabeth Combs as Libby St. Alban, Cynthia Ferrer as Gladys, Michael Hawkins as Arthur, Laura Killingsworth as Dame Libby St. Alban, Ashley Fox Linton as Elaine, Zachary Ford as Prentiss, Tom Shelton as Max and Christopher Carothers as Duchesi with Gabriel Kalomas, Jordan Lamoureux, Marc Ginsburg, Christopher Kauffmann, Allyson Turner, Natalie Storrs and Kirklyn Robinson.

Busker Alley, according to press notes, "shares the tale of Charlie Baxter, a street performer (busker), and Libby St. Alban whose star is about to be on the rise."

Although the Reiner’s Reading Series production is performed with no costumes or set and with scripts in hand, the evening features the complete script and score performed by an orchestra.

Producers are Michael Betts and David Lamoureux.
