Word of Mouth is presenting an evening of site specific one acts at the Blue Velvet Boxing Club April 10-May 16, officially opening April 17. Seven plays were selected from the fifty playwrights invited to write for the event. The winning playwrights, whose works were workshopped in Feb. and March, are Chris Bailey (Live From the Holy Land), William S. E. Coleman (The Main Event, Gideon Evans (Dueling Polemics), John C. Havens (Paper Towels), Seth Kramer (Pay Per Screw and The Velvet Variation) and Robin Rothstein (Down for the Count). Finishing the evening will be a fight created by fight director David Chandler (Eagle Quest Tai-chi).

Standing Eight is Word of Mouth's third environmental production following 1997's outdoor festival Street and 1996's rooftop piece City Views.
