Step Lively Productions will present a staged reading of Kurt Vonnegut's God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater, on Sept. 18 at the Producer's Club II. Both readings take place at 7 PM.

The musical satire features book and lyrics by Howard Ashman, music by Alan Menken and additional lyrics by Dennis Green.

Cole Ferry's Step Lively Productions presents the special reading based on the Vonnegut novel. In the story, the idealist and war veteran Eliot Rosewater presides over a multi-national family foundation and dispenses money philanthropically and randomly to "arcane and artistic projects." His methods cause family dispute and a lawyer finally tries to divert Rosewater's money to an obscure branch of the family.

God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater first presented by the WPA Theater in 1979.
