News Stephen Buntrock and Kathy Voytko to Battle The Brain That Wouldn't Die! In 3-D!!! at NYMF Stephen Buntrock and Kathy Voytko will co-star in the New York Musical Theatre Festival presentation of The Brain That Wouldn't Die! In 3-D!!!, by Tom pivak and Elizabeth Gelman, which will play TBG Theater in October.

Tim Drucker will direct the Oct. 6-16 run of the musical, based on the 1962 cult sci-fi classic. The show has book and lyrics by Gelman and music, book and lyrics by Sivak. 

In addition to Buntrock (A Little Night Music, Beauty and the Beast) and Voytko (Next to Normal, The Pirate Queen), the cast will include Liz Baltes (A Minister's Wife), Taryn Darr (Catch Me If You Can), Jamie Jackson (The 39 Steps) and Brian Charles Rooney (Threepenny Opera).

According to the authors, "It's 1961 and Dr. Dick Cuttingham (Buntrock) will go to any lengths to further science — even Murder! When his fiancée, Hedy (Voytko), is accidentally decapitated, Dick keeps her head alive in a baking pan. Add a Monster in the Closet, a one-armed lab assistant, and a model with 'a body to die for,' and you have the perfect formula for a 3-D extravaganza!"

The Brain That Wouldn't Die! In 3-D!!! will have lighting design by Brian Tovar, scenic by Clifton Chadick and costume design by David Withrow. Annbritt DuChateau will serve as music director.
