The Garage, the smallest of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company's three Chicago playing spaces, will host two world premieres and one Midwest premiere in its 2002-03 season, which runs Oct. 24-June 22, 2003.

The three selected playwrights are all women: Brooke Berman, Mia McCullough and Wendy MacLeod.

MacLeod, author of The Water Children and The House of Yes, possesses the largest reputation. Her Things Being What They Are will run May 22-June 22, 2003, under the hand of director-actor Rick Snyder. In the new work, Bill has moved to a new city and into a new condo, where he's waiting for his wife. In the meantime, his neighbor, Jack, keeps his company—but, for a little too long.

Berman's Until We Find Each Other leads off the season, Oct. 24-Nov. 24. The play, which was workshopped this summer at the O'Neill Playwrights Conference in Connecticut, is about three cousins who share a psychic link, but nonetheless lead solitary existences as they each search for their own personal sense of truth. Next comes Taking Care by McCullough, and directed by Steppenwolf ensemble member Tim Hopper. The story is about Ma, who has always taken care of Benny, who by rights should be in a home.
