Brinberg created this show, which mixes gossip and goodies from the life of songstress Barbra Steisand with the songs she made famous. Imitating Steisand's vocal stylings on "People," "Evergreen" and "Funny Girl," he even sings the duet "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" — with himself. Other voices guest along the way, including Brinberg's impressions of Julie Andrews, Ethel Merman, Betty Buckley, Carol Channing and Eartha Kitt.

Brinberg won New York's Bistro and MAC Award for Best Cabaret Act for Simply Barbra. A similar version of the show was last seen in San Francisco at Piafs in 1999.

Tickets are $25. The New Conservatory Theatre Center is located at 25 Van Ness Avenue near Market Street. For tickets, call (415) 861-8972. The New Conservatory Theatre Center is on the web at http://www.nctcsf.org.
