The celebrated British theatrical sensation Stomp is coming to London's West End for the very first time and will be playing at the Vaudeville Theatre beginning Sept. 24 with a press night scheduled for Sept. 25.
This award-winning, energetic and imaginative show has previously played at The Roundhouse and Sadler's Wells and has toured throughout the U.K. The Vaudeville Theatre marks its first foray to the heart of the West End.
Originally created in Brighton in 1991, Stomp is a unique combination of percussion, movement and visual comedy. Since its inception, the production has toured to 39 diverse countries from Russia to Brazil, Australia to Japan and Germany to Taiwan and has become an international stage phenomenon. Over ten million people have seen this exhilarating spectacle, and the show remains a success throughout the world.
Stomp finds beauty and music in everyday equipment — from boots and bins to zippo lighters and plumber's plungers — everything including the kitchen sink becomes part of this amazing production as a cast of eight inspired performers make instruments out of brooms and turn hand-clapping into conversation.
