Barbra Streisand starred on Broadway in I Can Get It for You Wholesale and Funny Girl, earning Tony Award nominations for both performances. She received a 1970 Special Tony Award. Scheduled for a Sept. 29 release on the Columbia Records label, the two-disc deluxe edition of "Love Is the Answer" boasts a first disc of songs featuring orchestrations by Johnny Mandel. For the second disc, Streisand will be joined by Grammy-winning jazz musician Diana Krall and her quartet, who will explore the same selection of songs. The new recording, press notes state, "presents the artist as a cabaret and jazz singer of emotional clarity, depth and maturity, offering the listener a warm and intimate selection of late night meditations on love's powers, heartbreaks and solaces."
