Regional theatres often partner with business to sponsor some or all of their season. Newspapers, airlines and hotels are common co-producers, who exchange cash for the prestige of supporting a fine arts organization. American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco has struck a very unique deal, however. The company will have its own suite - room 801 - in the City by the Bay's swank Serrano Hotel. Guests who stay in the room will do some among memorabilia from the theatre's 35 year history in San Francisco. The various sections of suite are named for areas in the theatre. There is a "green room" with a mini bar, desk and copies of ACT scripts and ACT stationary for writing notes. The "dressing room" is located inside the bathroom and contains an armoire designed to resemble an actor's wardrobe. The bedroom itself is designed to look like a stage, including curtains, a proscenium and theatre lighting. Various ACT props and pieces decorate the room.

A one night stay is $329. To make a reservation for the room, opening Sept. 19, call (877) 294-9709. The Serrano Hotel is on the web at http://www.serranohotel.com. American Conservatory Theatre is on the web at http://www.act-sfbay.org.
