Two current Broadway denizens of Chicago, Marilu Henner and Joel Grey, will join Jekyll & Hyde's Robert Cuccioli and the Broadway bound Deborah Gibson as the headliners of the first-ever program, "The Broadway Mentor Series."

The series is being sponsored by On Location Education, the fore most provider of on-set academic education for minors working in the entertainment industry.

Beginning July 11, all the children now working on Broadway will be treated to five free one-hour seminars and workshops led by the celebrity quartet above.

"While academics will always remain our primary focus, the summer is an ideal time to have some fun and put the spotlight on another part of the children's education--the business of show business," said Alan Simon, OLE's founder.

Each celebrity guest will be encouraged to create a one-hour program that draws upon his or her own personal experience in the industry. "Many of these children have fears that they have already reached the peak of their careers," said Simon. "With all the horror stories about child actors, we want to offer these kids encouragement. Who better to offer practical advice than working adult actors, many of whom were successful in making the transition from being child actors themselves?"

"The Broadway Mentor Series" is one program in a series of initiatives On Location Education has taken to educate professional children and their families to the serious issues regarding minors in the entertainment industry.

It is offered free to the young actors currently on Broadway in Beauty and the Beast, The King and I, Annie, et al--but it's not open to the public.

Playwrights Horizons has donated the space for the entire series; the participating celebs are also sharing their time without compensation.
