Livent's production of Sunset Boulevard will move to Vancouver earlier than planned to make way for the accelerated Ragtime schedule. Sunset Boulevard with Diahann Carroll and Rex Smith will have it's final Toronto performance on Sunday Aug 18. Following the three months it will take to move and reassemble the show's massive set and complex physical components, and for additional rehearsal in the new space, preview performances will begin on Friday Nov 22nd. 1996 with the official opening slated for Sunday Dec 1st. 1996.

The venue is the Ford Centre for the Performing Arts in Vancouver B.C.

"Of course I'm going to Vancouver" says Diahann Carroll, "I know I would die if I didn't work."... "I have no desire to leave Norma (Desmond) yet!" Norma Desmond is the role that Ms. Carroll, as she is called backstage, has coveted like nothing else for years. Despite the 700 stairs she goes up and down each performance, and the bad knees, (that still look great for any age..let alone 60!) and the ultrasound treatments on them regularly, and the ice packs for 15 minutes after every show, and the knee pads she wears on stage to keep her knee joints in place, Diahann Carroll loves the role.
