News Sutton Foster and Christian Borle to Be Part of New In-the-Works Musical at Joe's Pub
An as-of-yet untitled musical by Patti Griffin and Keith Bunin will be presented at Joe's Pub Jan. 30, Feb. 6 and Feb. 13, 2006.

The concert presentation of the in-progress musical, produced by Tom Hulce and directed by Michael Mayer, will co-star Tony Award winner Sutton Foster and Spamalot's Christian Borle. Show time is 7 PM.

The musical, according to the official Joe's Pub website, concerns the story of "Duane and Molly's road trip in a beat-up Chevy truck, from the southernmost tip of Florida to the northernmost corner of New York, with plenty of unexpected detours along the way."

The musical features a book by Keith Bunin and music and lyrics by Patty Griffin. Griffin has released five albums, including "Impossible Dream and 1000 Kisses." The Dixie Chicks recorded her songs "Truth #2" and "Top of the World." Playwright Bunin has penned The Credeaux Canvas, The World Over, The Principality Of Sorrows and The King of Clocks. Playwrights Horizons will present Bunin's The Busy World Is Hushed this spring.

She also received a Tony nomination for her performance in Little Women, and her other Broadway credits include roles in Les Misérables, Annie, The Scarlet Pimpernel and Grease!. Foster's regional and tour credits include What the World Needs Now, Dorian, Three Musketeers, South Pacific and The Will Rogers Follies. She also took part in two benefit concerts, Chess and Snoopy!; Foster co-produced the latter. Foster can currently be seen in The Drowsy Chaperone at the Los Angeles Music Center.

Christian Borle received a Drama Desk nomination for his work in Spamalot. He has also been seen on Broadway in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Jesus Christ Superstar and Footloose and was the dance captain for Amour.
