The Public Theater’s Master Writer Chair, Suzan-Lori Parks, returns to the Off-Broadway theatre March 5 with her newest work White Noise, a new play about race, friendship, and our rapidly unraveling social contract. Artistic Director Oskar Eustis directs the debut production.

In White Noise, four long-time friends navigate a racially motivated incident with the cops which leaves one of them shaken. The cast is made up of Hamilton Tony winner Daveed Diggs, Sheria Irving (Romeo and Juliet on Broadway), Thomas Sadoski (Life in Pieces), and Zoë Winters (Last Match).

White Noise is scheduled to play an extended engagement through April 21.

Parks returns to The Public following her critically acclaimed trilogy Father Comes Home From The Wars, Parts 1, 2, & 3. Her other plays include Topdog/Underdog, In The Blood, Fucking A, and The Death of The Last Black Man In The Whole Entire World aka The Negro Book Of The Dead.

Parks is the author of the novel Getting Mother’s Body and the writer of the screenplays for Girl 6; Their Eyes Were Watching God; and Anemone Me. She has penned the screenplays for the films, currently in production, The United States vs. Billie Holiday and an adaptation of Richard Wright’s Native Son.
