Theatregoers heading to Off-Broadway’s Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street during the holiday period will have a chance to try specially themed pies from the show’s pie chef, William “Bill” Yosses. The immersive revival, which has transformed the Barrow Street Theater into a working pie shop, has now sold over 20,000 pies since arriving Off-Broadway in February.

Directed by Bill Buckhurst, The Tooting Arts Club’s production of Sweeney Todd began previews February 14 at the Barrow Street Theatre prior to an official opening March 1. Theatregoers are able to purchase a pie with their ticket to the show, which is served in the theatre prior to performances.

From November 14–26, the pie shop will serve a special Thanksgiving pie made of organic turkey, squab, cornbread stuffing, and chanterelle mushrooms, served with a potato galette. From December 19–31, the holiday pie will be a flaky crust Châteaubriand en croute pot pie with filet of beef, sherry wild mushrooms, brussels sprouts, served with mashed potatoes, Aligot style. Both pies will be priced at $25 and are now available for purchase. The current meat pie and vegetarian pie will also be available during this time for $22.50.

Off-Broadway’s Sweeney Todd currently stars Hugh Panaro as Sweeney alongside Carolee Carmello as Mrs. Lovett. The acclaimed production is now selling through February 2018.

Completing the cast are Jake Boyd as Anthony, Eryn LeCroy as Johanna, Michael James Leslie as Judge Turpin, John Rapson as the Beadle, Stacie Bono as Pirelli and the Beggar Woman, and John-Michael Lyles as Tobias.

The company of Sweeney Todd also includes Colin Anderson, Matt Leisy, David Michael Garry, Liz Pearce, Danny Rothman, and Monet Sabel.

Sweeney Todd features music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by Hugh Wheeler from an adaptation by Christopher Bond.
