She's Mom to Melissa McCarthy's Molly, and Billy Gardell essays the other title role.

"They're two people in their early 30s — he's a cop, and she's a fourth-grade teacher — who meet at Overeaters Anonymous, and they fall in love," said The Swoose. "I'm delighted to part of this show. They're some great kids in it — Nyambi Nyambi, who's in Shakespeare in the Park right now, Katie Nixon, Reno Wilson. It's for Chuck Lorre, who created 'Two and a Half Men' and 'The Big Bang Theory.' James Burrows [Abe’s son] directed the pilot in April, and it got picked up for the fall."

Taking a short break from the L.A. filming, Kurtz attended the Irish Rep's benefit Brigadoon at the Shubert with Melissa Errico and Jason Danieley June 14.

Brian F. O'Byrne, who won a Tony opposite Kurtz in Frozen, was to have attended the gala, too — but was needed for some night-shooting for the HBO mini-series, "Mildred Pierce," in which he plays Kate Winslet's first and last husband.
O'Byrne was represented by his mother, Nancy, in from Ireland, and his wife, Heather Goldenhersh. They met giving Tony-nominated performances in Doubt; these days they are expecting their second child.
