Out Loud, the weekly play-reading series, continues April 14 with Michael Blieden’s Phyro-Giants!.

Frederick Weller, who is currently starring in Richard Greenberg’s Take Me Out, will join actress Heather Burns (Lobby Hero) for the one night-only reading at the Ars Nova Theatre. Phyro-Giants! concerns the thirty-something angst of four friends — Alex, Sarah, Joey and Melvin — who gather at a restaurant one evening and drink until confessions come pouring out. Phyro-Giants! played five months in Los Angeles and has also been produced in Chicago and Boston. Playwright Blieden has also written Staged Reading, which was performed at the HBO/Warner Brothers Television Workplace. As an actor, he has been seen on “ER,” “The King Of Queens” and “The Ellen Show.”

Frederick Weller currently stars as Shane Mungitt in Take Me Out at the Walter Kerr Theatre. On Broadway he was also seen in The Little Foxes, The Rehearsal and Six Degrees of Separation. His Off Broadway credits include The Shape of Things (Lucille Lortel Award nomination), Curtains (Obie Award), The Country Club, Plunge, Safe as Houses, Hurrah at Last, The Lion in Winter and Love Letters.

The Ars Nova Theater is located in New York City at 511 West 54th Street. Presented by the Ars Nova Theater and the Underwood Theater, there is no charge to attend the Out Loud series, although reservations are required. Call (212) 977-1700.
