News Talk-Back Session to Follow Public's In Darfur Staged Reading The Public Theater will host a talk-back session after the free staged reading of Winter Miller's In Darfur in Central Park July 9.

The Public Theater previously presented the developmental production this past April. The hope of the Public Theater is to continue to raise public awareness of the Darfur crisis and encourage activism, through readings, productions and informative talk-backs featuring leaders in world humanitarian efforts.

In Darfur, according to press notes, "is the provocative account of three intertwined lives at a camp for Internally Displaced Persons in Darfur. The story follows an aid-worker's mission to save and protect lives, a journalist's pursuit to deliver a Page One story and a Darfuri woman's quest for safety. It is a searing story of urgency and international significance."

Joanna Settle directs the Public's original cast: Ron Brice, Leon Addison Brown, Zainab Jah, Aaron Lohr, Heather Raffo, Maduka Steady, Sharon Washington and Rutina Wesley.

The post-show discussion will be led by Public artistic director Oskar Eustis and will also include Mark Hanis, Omer Ismail, Nicholas Kristof, Samantha Power and John Prendergast. Before the performance, Darfuri refugee and activist Daoud Ibarahaem Hari will provide brief introductory remarks about the crisis in Darfur.

In Darfur will take place at the Delacorte Theatre. Tickets are free and available on the day of the performance at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park and at The Public Theater, 425 Lafayette Street. The closest entrances to the Delacorte are at 81st Street and Central Park West or 79th Street and Fifth Avenue.
