The work is part of the Work & Show Festival, featuring new works of theatre, dance and music at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center. The festival began March 14 and ends March 31.

According to the TPAC website, me, myself and lie "is a work divided. It is structurally broken into two main sections, and eight subdivided sections. The piece is built to work as a whole, or to be pulled apart, leaving each vignette to serve as its own mini-work. Artistically, the thirty-minute work deals with identity, focusing on our inner definitions of 'self,' versus what we display to the world."

Diggs and Palermo founded dre.dance in 2004. Its world-premiere performance, cold water, was presented at the Joffrey Ballet School's gala in 2005 and it has presented several shows since.

Diggs appeared in the original Broadway cast of Rent and Andrew Lippa's The Wild Party Off-Broadway, and has also appeared on Broadway in Wicked, Chicago and Carousel. He has appeared in such films as "How Stella Got Her Groove Back," "Chicago," "Go," "Brown Sugar," "Cake" and "Rent" as well as such television series as "Ally McBeal." Palermo has worked with Diggs for more than 16 years, as the two met at The School of the Arts in Rochester, NY where they studied under choreographers Garth Fagan and Timothy Draper. Palermo has performed on Broadway in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Annie Get Your Gun and Wicked. His choreography can be seen in "Stella," "Holey Habits" and "Sometimes Life is Hard" and commercials for G-Shock watches and the Showtime networks.
