Drama Dept. has partnered with High 5 Tickets to the Arts and the Time Warner Foundation to provide New York City teenagers with $5 tickets to the production of Rope, directed by Obie Award winner David Warren, at Off-Broadway's The Zipper.

Patrick Hamilton's thriller-melodrama opened at the West 37th Street venue Dec. 4, and is scheduled to run through Jan. 15, 2006.

"High 5 is marketing and distributing this offer to attend Drama Dept.'s acclaimed production," according to the Drama Dept. announcement. "Time Warner is funding the costs of the tickets and together they hope to inspire these teenagers to become lifelong theatergoers."

Presented by Drama Dept., True Love Productions, highbrow entertainment and The Zipper, Rope is a revival of the 1929 thriller (once known as Rope's End) which tells the story of two young Oxford men who attempt "the perfect murder" to prove that they are above ordinary people. The play was adapted by Alfred Hitchcock for his celebrated 1948 film.

The cast of Rope features Christopher Duva, Ginifer King, John Lavelle, Lois Markle, Zak Orth, Sam Trammell, Neil Vipond and Chandler Williams.

The performance schedule at The Zipper (336 West 37th Street, between Eighth and Ninth Avenues) is Tuesday-Friday at 8 PM, Saturdays at 3 PM and 8 PM and Sundays at 2 PM and 7 PM. Teens can purchase $5 High 5 tickets to Rope by visiting the High 5 website at www.high5tix.org or by calling (212) 750-0555.

High 5 Tickets to the Arts is a 10-year-old non-profit organization that provides New York City teenagers free after-school programs and $5 tickets to music, theatre, dance and visual arts events.

The organization "reaches teens in all five boroughs from all ethnic, socio-economic and educational backgrounds."

High 5 currently sells more than 1,300 $5 arts tickets to teenagers each month.
