Each year the Playhouse on the Square in Memphis, Tennessee has an annual "New Playwright's Contest", selecting one script from more than 800 entries and producing it. This year, the winner of the Square's Contest is Mark Dunn for his play, North Fork.

If Dunn's name sounds familiar, it's because the New York-based playwright recently made news by filing a law suit charging the hit movie The Truman Show stole its story from his 1992 play, Frank's Life. Dunn's new play, North Fork, was selected by Playhouse on the Square the week before the news of his litigation appeared in the press. North Fork will play at TheatreWorks on weekends, opening Aug. 28 and running through Sept. 13.

North Fork takes place Memorial Day weekend at a summer cottage on the Guadalupe River. Four daughters reunite with their father for the first time since their mother's death. The five come to terms with their loss, as well as, deal with the abusive husband of one of the daughters.

North Fork plays at TheatreWorks in Memphis, TN. For tickets or more information, call (901) 726-4656.
