Broadway star Terrence Mann will direct his former Beauty and the Beast co-star Gary Beach in Meredith Willson's The Music Man Nov. 5-14 at the North Carolina Theatre.
Mann, the artistic director of NCT, returns to the theatre after recently directing the Minnesota production of Romeo and Juliet: The Musical From William Shakespeare, a piece he co-composed and adapted with Jerome Korman. Best known for his Broadway star turns, Mann was a two time Tony Award nominee for Les Miserables and Beauty and the Beast and created the role of Chauvelin in the first version of The Scarlet Pimpernel.
Tony nominee Gary Beach stars as Harold Hill. Beach received his nomination playing Lumiere opposite Mann's Beast. Other credits include national tours of Les Miserables, Legends, Doonesbury, Annie and 1776.
Also in the cast are Maggie Bunce as Eulalie, Jennifer Cody (Beauty and the Beast, Cats) as Zaneeta, David Engelman as Charlie, Danette Holden as Marian, Russell Leib as Mayer Shinn, Emily Leonard (Eleanor: An American Love Story) as Amaryllis, Kathy Norris as Mrs. Paroo, Bill Rollon as Tommy Djilas and Lassiter Tollison as Winthrop.
