When it closes, the production, which officially opened May 18 at New York City Center Stage I, will have played 48 regular performances and 21 previews.

Laila Robins plays a manipulating mum in the New York City premiere of the play by the young British writer, who penned the play when she was 19. Sarah Benson (the artistic director of Soho Rep who staged the provocative Blasted) directs the Off-Broadway staging. Previews began April 29.

The cast also features Christopher Abbott (Good Boys and True at Second Stage), Maïté Alina (Off-Broadway debut), Betty Gilpin (Good Boys and True and Boys' Life at Second Stage), Cristin Milioti (The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter at NYTW), Robins (Frozen) and Victor Slezak (Salome).

MTC bills That Face as "a powerful and darkly comic look at an affluent family in freefall. Mia (Cristin Milioti) has been suspended from boarding school. Her brother, Henry (Christopher Abbott), has dropped out altogether. And Martha (Laila Robins), their mum, manipulates them all. Money can no longer fix their problems — now it's up to them."

That Face premiered in 2007 at the Royal Court Theatre before transferring to the Duke of York's Theatre in London's West End. It won the Evening Standard Award for Best New Play in 2007. In 2009, it was nominated for Best New Play in the Olivier Awards in London. Stenham's second play, Tusk, also received rave reviews and sold out the Royal Court in May 2009. She is currently working on a new commission for the Royal Court Theatre. The creative team includes David Zinn (scenic and costume design), Tyler Micoleau (lighting design), Matt Tierney (sound design), David Brimmer (fight director) and Ben Furey (dialect coach).
