Directed by Emily Mann, the Harold Pinter opus will play through Oct. 15. The cast comprises Barbara Bryne, Allan Corduner, Randall Newsome, Charlotte Parry, Henry Stram and James Stephens.
The Birthday Party premiered in 1958 at London's Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith. The play, according to press notes, is a "study of menace and mystery [set] in a shabby English boarding house."
The creative team for the McCarter production also includes Eugene Lee (set design), Jennifer von Mayrhauser (costume design), Jeff Croiter (lighting design), Rob Millburn and Michael Bodeen (sound design) and Rick Sordelet (fight direction).
The Birthday Party plays Tuesday-Thursday evenings at 7:30 PM, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM with matinees Saturdays at 3 PM and Sundays at 2 PM.
