Seven plays and six musicals are set to hit the Great White Way this fall. Broadway audiences will be treated to a triple dose of Russian drama this fall, courtesy of the star power lent to the plays by a trio of performers. Cate Blanchett takes on The Present based on Chekhov’s Platonov, Roundabout Theatre Company presents a new production of The Cherry Orchard and the vodka bar-set musical Natasha, Pierre and The Great Comet of 1812 comes to the Imperial.

LONDON FALL PREVIEW

While the theatre scene across the pond receives mountings of multiple New York productions, London also welcomes some new arrivals of its own. A brand new production of Dreamgirls, directed and choreographed by Tony winner Casey Nicholaw, opens in November. The Red Shoes arrives in December, and the straight play season is full of Shakespeare.
