The Ferryman's Tom Glynn-Carney Tapped for William S. Burroughs-Inspired Film

The Ferryman's Tom Glynn-Carney is tapped to star alongside Kristen Stewart and Ben Foster in a new film adapted from Beat Generation writer William S. Burroughs' early works and letters, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Foster will play the Naked Lunch and Junkie novelist and will also make his directorial debut with the film. He co-authored the screenplay Oren Moverman.

Glynn-Carney, who will play ex-pat Allerton, originated the role of Shane Corcoran in Jez Butterworth's The Ferryman at the Royal Court Theatre, going on to reprise his performance in the West End and on Broadway. The role recently earned him a 2019 Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Play, and he is also the recipient of a Theatre World Award, which recognizes performers making their Broadway or Off-Broadway debuts.

The Ferryman is scheduled to continue its Tony-nominated, extended Broadway run through July 7 at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.
