April 26: Academy Award nominee Diane Lane and Tony nominee Tony Shalhoub play a couple whose relationship is threatened by a series of secrets about their past in Bathsheba Doran's The Mystery of Love & Sex at Lincoln Center. Don't miss the chance to see this talented cast, directed by Fun Home's Sam Gold. The play also marks Lane's first return to the stage since 1978. May 3: Almeida Theatre's West End transfer, Ghosts, starring Lesley Manville in an Olivier Award-winning role, plays a limited engagement at BAM. Richard Eyre expertly directs this haunting Ibsen classic, also winning him the 2014 Olivier Award for Best Revival.

May 3: Off-Broadway landmark musical The Fantasticks, about young lovers who grow up next door to one another, has set its closing date after 55 years of performances. It will conclude its run as the longest-running musical in world history, having played a total of 20,672 shows in New York City.

OPENING: April 23: Broadway legend Chita Rivera stars as a formidable wealthy widow seeking revenge and a last brush with romance in The Visit, the new Kander and Ebb musical making its long-awaited Broadway debut. Based on Friedrich Dürrenmatt's dark 1956 play, the musical features a book by Tony Award-winning playwright Terrence McNally and is directed by Tony winner John Doyle. April 23: Lisa D'Amour's colorful New Orleans-set comedy drama, Airline Highway brings a rag-tag group of strippers, hustlers and philosophers together to celebrate iconic burlesque performer and personality about town, Miss Ruby. Having previously played an acclaimed production at the Steppenwolf Theatre, it began previews on Broadway April 1. Playwright Lisa D'Amour tells Playbill.com about her inspiration for Airline Highway.

April 26: Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway stars in the solo play Grounded, which officially opens Off-Broadway this weekend. Tony winner Julie Taymor directs this emotionally impacting and impressive production at the Public Theater.

PREVIEWS

April 28: Amanda Seyfried makes her stage debut alongside Thomas Sadoski in Neil LaBute's The Way We Get By, directed by Leigh Silverman. The young stars play two people trying to navigate the rules of attractions, sex, society and a killer hangover. Seyfried opens up to Playbill.com about tinder, dating and dream roles on Broadway.

April 29: MCC Theater will stage the world premiere of Permission by Hand to God playwright Robert Askins, starring Justin Bartha ("The Hangover") and Emmy nominee Elizabeth Reaser ("Grey's Anatomy"). The stars portray a couple whose decision to make changes to their marriage will have them questioning everything they thought they knew.

April 23: Philanthropist and Tony nominee Brenda Braxton takes to the stage at the Metropolitan Room for an evening of performance, gratitude and story-telling in Act 2…Now What? Last seen on Broadway as Velma Kelly in the hit musical Chicago, Braxton draws upon her years of experience in show business. 

April 26: Hedwig co-creator and original star John Cameron Mitchell will take his final bow in the rock musical's starring role. April 28: Nominations for the year's most anticipated theatrical events, the Tony Awards, will be announced by Mary-Louise Parker and Bruce Willis, 8:30 AM ET, CBS.

April 28: Multi-platinum recording artist Josh Groban will release his musical theatre album, "Stages," recorded with a 75-piece orchestra and featuring songs from such favorites as Les Miz, A Chorus Line and Carousel. Groban will commence a North American tour Sept. 12 in Atlanta.

April 29: "Glee" darling Darren Criss will step into high heels for the title role in Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
