The company of the hit Broadway musical The Lion King will perform live on NBC's "Weekend Today Show" on May 11.

The cast of the Disney musical, which was directed by Tony winner Julie Taymor, will perform two songs from the production: "He Lives In You" and the South African-inspired "One By One." "He Lives in You" will feature Broadway's new Simba, Clifton Oliver, who originated that role in the Los Angeles production.

NBC'S "Weekend Today Show" airs at 7:30 AM ET.

The Lion King opened on Broadway in 1997 at the New Amsterdam Theatre. Featuring a score by Elton John (music) and Tim Rice (lyrics), the musical won When The Lion King opened on Broadway in 1997, it received six Tony Awards, including one for Best Musical.
