News The Mousetrap Celebrates 59th West End Birthday Nov. 25; New U.K. Tour for 2012 The Mousetrap, which holds the Guinness World Record for being "the longest continuous run of any show in the world," marks its 59th birthday Nov. 25, with its 24,587th performance at the West End's St Martin's Theatre.

Since opening in 1952, 403 actors and 235 understudies have appeared in the production.

In September 2012, it will embark on its first U.K. national tour since its original pre-West End run in 1952, beginning performances at Canterbury's Marlowe Theatre Sept. 11. A star cast will be rotated through the show every 12 weeks, for the production that will be directed by Angus Jackson.
