The Other Josh Cohen returns Off-Broadway October 26, kicking off a four-month limited engagement at the Westside Theatre. The show, which premiered in 2012 at the SoHo Playhouse, was nominated for six Drama Desk Awards and the Lortel Award for Outstanding Musical before heading to Paper Mill Playhouse for a sold-out run.

The Other Josh Cohen features a book, music, and lyrics by David Rossmer and Steve Rosen (the duo behind Don’t Quit Your Night Job), who return to co-star in the title roles under the direction of Tony nominee Hunter Foster.

Joining Rosen and Rossmer in the cast at the Westside Theatre are Drama Desk nominee Kate Wetherhead (Legally Blonde), Hannah Elless (Bright Star), Elizabeth Nestlerode (Once regional productions), Luke Darnell (Million Dollar Quartet Vegas), and Louis Tucci (Buddy); Zach Spound (Cruel Intentions: The Musical) serves as swing.

In The Other Josh Cohen, Josh has hit rock bottom—he’s single and broke and his apartment’s been robbed of everything but a Neil Diamond CD. His luck takes a turn when a mysterious envelope arrives.

The show will officially open November 12 and is scheduled to continue through February 24, 2019.

The Other Josh Cohen was developed at New York Musical Festival ahead of its 2012 Off-Broadway debut. The subsequent Paper Mill run, in 2014, was followed by a limited engagement at Geva Theatre Center in New York earlier this year. Geva is serving as associate producer for the remount. Suzanne Gilad and Larry Rogowsky produce.

The design team is made up of scenic designer Carolyn Mraz (Beardo, {my lingerie play}), lighting designer Jeff Croiter (Peter and the Starcatcher), sound designer Bart Fasbender (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), and costume designer Nikki Moody (Rocky Horror Show, Guys and Dolls at Bucks County). Casting is by Tara Rubin Casting (Kaitlin Shaw, CSA); general management is by Brierpatch.
