The Peoples Improv Theater in New York, also known as The PIT, has announced its fall lineup. The slate includes a Donald Trump musical, an award-winning new comedy and a historical “hip-hopera.”

The season kicked off September 6 with resident playwrights Marina Tempelsman and Nicco Aeed’s new play Room 4, which explores the problems in casting and racial diversity in the entertainment industry. The show is billed as a mash-up of Waiting for Godot, A Chorus Line and Groundhog Day, along with the experiences of “every black actor in America.” Performances run through October 7.

From October 3, the PIT will present In Trump We Trust, a musical satire about the presidential nominee audiences love to hate: Donald Trump. The show arrives in New York following a hit run at Second City Hollywood. Performances will run through November 7.

From the creators of Puffs, which garnered critical acclaim at the PIT, comes Welcome to Cold Lake, a monthly live radio comedy about the fictional town of Cold Lake, MN. The show plays Monday evenings through December. The PIT will also present the monthly comedy show She Makes Me Laugh, featuring some of New York City’s best female comedians, actresses and improv teams.

Beginning September 16, the PIT will welcome North Coast, a hip-hop improv team that draws on history and historical figures for its improv sets. The show, which is billed as a “hip-hopera” and titled Anybody, is performed September 16, October 7 and November 12 only.

The lineup is completed by Allison Goldberg and Jen Jamula’s Blogologues; Zach Sucker and Viggo Veen’s Thunderflop; Blatantly Blaine: A “Family” Musical; and the acclaimed Political Subversities’ newest show: Vote or Whatever, running Fridays weekly through the election.
