News The Salvage Shop Opens for Business Off-Broadway Nov. 2 The Storm Theatre will open the New York premiere of The Salvage Shop, written by Jim Nolan and directed by Peter Dobbins, at its space at 145 W. 46th St., on Nov. 2, after previews from Oct. 28.

Set in contemporary Ireland, The Salvage Shop "explores reconciliation, redemption, love and failure through the fraught relationship of legendary local bandleader Sylvie Tansey and his gifted son Eddie," according to production notes. "After twelve years, Sylvie still hasn’t forgiven his son for abruptly leaving the band, but when his father falls ill, Eddie returns home to care for him." The production features Kristen Bush, Karen Eke, Roland Johnson, David Little, Paul Anthony McGrane and Ted McGuinness, and includes set by Todd Edward Ivins, costumes by Erin Murphy and lighting by Michael Abrams.

Playwright Jim Nolan is a founding member and former artistic director of Red Kettle Theatre Company. His plays include The Gods Are Angry Miss Kerr, The Black Pool, The Boathouse, Moonshine and The Guernica Hotel.
