News THE SCREENING ROOM: A Look at Venus in Fur With Nina Arianda and Hugh Dancy (Video) Manhattan Theatre Club's production of David Ives' Venus in Fur ended its limited engagement Dec. 18 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. The production, however, will return to Broadway with original stars Nina Arianda and Hugh Dancy for a commercial engagement in February 2012 at the Lyceum.

Tony Award nominee Arianda (Born Yesterday) starred opposite Emmy Award nominee Dancy (Journey’s End, "The Big C") in the recent production directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie. Here is a look at Venus in Fur.

In Venus, according to MTC, "Vanda (Arianda) is a preternaturally talented young actress determined to land the lead in Thomas’ (Dancy) new play based on the classic erotic novel, 'Venus in Fur,'" according to press notes. "Her emotionally charged audition for the gifted but demanding playwright/director becomes an electrifying game of cat and mouse blurring the lines between fantasy and reality, seduction and power, love and sex."

The spring return of Venus in Fur is a limited commercial engagement running Feb. 7-June 17, 2012.
