As a star at MGM studios during its heyday, Reynolds co-starred in the classic "Singin' in the Rain" opposite Gene Kelly. Other notable film appearances include "Three Little Words," "Tammy," "The Tender Trap" and the movie adaptation of Broadway's The Unsinkable Molly Brown.
After Hollywood stopped making her kind of musicals, Reynolds turned to Broadway, appearing three times, most notably in the 1973 revival of Irene, which earned her the Tony Award as Outstanding Actress in a Musical. She returned with a concert show, Debbie, in 1976, and she replaced Lauren Bacall in Woman of the Year in 1981.
