Loudon originated the role of villainous Miss Hannigan in the 1977 Tony Award-winning musical Annie — a show headed back to Broadway this season with two-time Tony winner Katie Finneran as the evil orphanage supervisor. Loudon took home the prize for Best Actress in a Musical at the 31st annual Tonys. Her other Broadway credits included Tony-nominated turns in Ballroom and The Fig Leaves are Falling as well as Nowhere to Go But Up, Noël Coward's Sweet Potato, Three Men on a Horse, The Women, Sweeney Todd, The West Side Waltz, Noises Off, Jerry's Girls, Comedy Tonight and Dinner at Eight.

At the 1977 Tony Awards, Loudon was joined by Annie co-stars Robert Fitch, who played her brother Rooster, and Barbara Erwin, who played Lily St. Regis, for a performance of "Easy Street." The Tony performance concluded with Annie's signature song, "Tomorrow," featuring Andrea McArdle and the company.

During the holidays, an Annie Christmas special was televised and featured members of the original Broadway company. Here is Loudon's medley of Christmas favorites.

In 1979 Loudon was Tony-nominated for her performance as Bea Asher in Ballroom. At the Tony Awards she performed "Fifty Percent."

The 1983 Tony Awards at the George Gershwin Theatre, formerly the Uris Theatre, paid tribute to composer Gershwin — the theatre was renamed in his honor and the evening featured performances of his work. Loudon offered her rendition of "Vodka," a song from the 1925 musical Song of the Flame that featured a score by Gershwin and Herbert P. Stothart.

That following year, Loudon performed the Stephen Sondheim hit "Broadway Baby" from Follies at the 1984 Tonys.

Speaking of Sondheim, here is Loudon's medley of "Losing My Mind" and "You Could Drive a Person Crazy."

At the 1986 Tony Awards, Loudon reprised her performance of "Easy Street."

Loudon also starred in the television series "Dorothy." Here, she performs "Hard Hearted Hannah" on the show.

At a performance at the White House, Loudon again sang "Broadway Baby."

Here, on "The Garry Moore Show," Loudon performed "Just Can't Wait 'Till Christmas" alongside Dorothy Collins and Eileen Farrell.

At the 1992 MAC Awards, Loudon performed selections from her "Saloon" solo album.
