News "The Social Network," Aaron Sorkin Win L.A., Boston and N.Y. Online Critics' Awards "The Social Network," the film about the founding of Facebook, and its screenplay — written by stage and screen writer Aaron Sorkin — were awarded Best Picture and Best Screenplay from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association (LAFSCA), the Boston Society of Film Critics (BSFC), and the New York Film Critics Online (NYFCO), according to ew.com.

The film's director, David Fincher, was named Best Director by all three awards organizations, tying with "Carlos" director Olivier Assayas in the Los Angeles awards. Jesse Eisenberg, who plays Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in the film, was named Best Actor by the Boston critics.

Other stage actors who were honored for screen performances include Colin Firth (Best Actor, LAFSCA – "The King's Speech"), Natalie Portman (Best Actress, BSFC and NYFCO – "The Swan") and Melissa Leo (Best Supporting Actress, NYFCO – "The Fighter").
