News The Taffetas Will Sing at Denver Center March-August 2007 The next Denver Center Attractions production to play The Garner Galleria Theatre — a home for intimate musicals — will be The Taffetas, the popular musical about a 1950s-era sister act.

The production will begin performances March 10, 2007, and run through Aug. 5, 2007. Denver Center favorite Ray Roderick (I Love a Piano) will direct and choreograph.

"It's 1950-something and Kaye, Peggy, Cheryl and Donna — four singing sisters from Muncie, Indiana — are making their national television debut," according to DCA. "'Spotlight on Music,' a fictitious weekly program on the real-life Dumont Television Network, is the framework for an evening featuring some of the greatest hits of the '50s. A nostalgic nod to girl groups of the era, The Taffetas pays tribute to the sounds of The Maguire Sisters, The Fontaine Sisters and The Chordettes."

Rick Lewis created, arranged, wrote and directed the Off-Broadway musical in 1988. It premiered at the Cherry Lane Theatre and moved to the Village Gate. The original cast featured Jody Abrahams, Karen Curlee, Melanie Mitchell and Tia Speros.

The Taffetas fills the TBA slot in Denver Center Attractions' 2007 season. Casting, show times and ticket information will be announced at a later date.
