News "Theater Talk" Pays Tribute to Fred Ebb Sept. 17 "Theater Talk," the PBS chat show featuring interviews with top theatre writers and performers, will remember the late Tony-winning lyricist Fred Ebb Sept. 17.

Co-hosts Michael Riedel and Susan Haskins will offer highlights from an interview the duo conducted with Ebb and writing partner John Kander in 1996. Ebb and Kander were the first guests on "Theater Talk," when PBS/Thirteen began airing the series. For the theatre, John Kander and the late Fred Ebb wrote the scores for Flora, the Red Menace; Cabaret; The Happy Time; Zorba; 70, Girls, 70; Chicago; The Act; Woman of the Year; The Rink; And the World Goes 'Round; Kiss of the Spider Woman and Steel Pier. Their most recent projects include The Visit and Skin of Our Teeth. The revivals of Chicago and Cabaret both garnered great acclaim, each winning the Tony for Best Revival of a Musical. The long-awaited movie version of "Chicago" nabbed the Academy Award for Best Picture.
