Co-hosts Michael Riedel and Susan Haskins will offer highlights from an interview the duo conducted with Ebb and writing partner John Kander in 1996. Ebb and Kander were the first guests on "Theater Talk," when PBS/Thirteen began airing the series. For the theatre, John Kander and the late Fred Ebb wrote the scores for Flora, the Red Menace; Cabaret; The Happy Time; Zorba; 70, Girls, 70; Chicago; The Act; Woman of the Year; The Rink; And the World Goes 'Round; Kiss of the Spider Woman and Steel Pier. Their most recent projects include The Visit and Skin of Our Teeth. The revivals of Chicago and Cabaret both garnered great acclaim, each winning the Tony for Best Revival of a Musical. The long-awaited movie version of "Chicago" nabbed the Academy Award for Best Picture.
Hosted by New York Post theatre columnist Michael Riedel and producer Susan Haskins, "Theater Talk" airs late Friday nights at midnight on WNET/Thirteen. Visit www.theatertalk.org for more information.
