News "Theater Talk" to Remember Betty Comden Sept. 21 The Sept. 21 broadcast of "Theater Talk," the PBS chat show that features interviews with top theatre practitioners, will pay tribute to the late lyricist and librettist Betty Comden.

"Remembering Betty Comden" will make its premiere Sept. 21 at 12:30 AM ET on PBS/Thirteen. Lyricist Susan Birkenhead will chat about her late friend, and the 30-minute program will also feature excerpts from interviews with Comden in 1993, 1994 and 1997; the latter also featured Comden's writing partner Adolph Green. Excerpts from Comden and Green performing their own songs will also be included. Betty Comden, the award-winning lyricist and librettist who — with writing partner Adolph Green — created such iconic New York musicals as Bells Are Ringing, Wonderful Town and On the Town, died Nov. 23, 2006. She was 89.

"Remembering Betty Comden" will be rebroadcast on PBS/Thirteen Sept. 24 at 5 AM and on CUNY-TV on Sept. 29 at 1:30 PM, Sept. 30 at 12:30 PM and Oct. 1 at 7:30 AM, 1:30 PM and 7:30 PM.
